A Ferrety Start I awoke to something fuzzy crawling up the inside of my pajama leg. I was terrified at first, wondering what monster was coming to kill me via my groin. Then I remembered about Deuteronomy. I carefully positioned myself so that I could reach in and pull the ferret out of my trousers. "Deut, what were you thinking?" I mumbled more to myself than to the creature in my arms. He just blinked at me, as if to portray himself as the picture of innocence.
